Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an immune-mediated disorder in which the body’s own immune system attacks the fibers of the central nervous system resulting in scarring (i.e., sclerosis). Although more commonly diagnosed in adults, 2-5% of individuals with MS will exhibit symptoms prior to 18 years of age.
